I hate to sound like a broken record, but…. another awesome day on the bike!
Today’s ride from Flagstaff, AZ, to Holbrook, AZ, was a slight decline most of the way. Additionally, we had a strong tailwind that pushed us all day long. So it was fast. For example, on Saturday, we rode 47 miles, most of which was climbing 5,000+. It took us 6-ish hours. Today, the first SAG was at 40 miles, and we arrived there in about 2 hours. What a difference the terrain makes.
We rode thru the town of Windslow, AZ, made famous by the Eagles song, “Take it Easy”, (“I’m standin’ on a corner in Windslow, Arizona….”). Of course we took the obligatory pics and videos to document the visit. And, we enjoyed a couple scoops of ice cream as we watched others take their pictures. (Funny, *most* of the people getting their pictures taken were 60 years old or older. I don’t know why…..).
The only bummer today was I had flat #5 and #6 out on the freeway. I’m not sure who’s currently leading the group in flat count, but I’m certainly in the running.
Tomorrow we ride to Gallup, New Mexico.
Onward!!
